Room for One
This post is for my Dad. Today would have been his 70th birthday. There are many days when I am walking around town that I wish he could see all of this. To see how beautiful Santa Fe is. Happy Birthday Dad.

Sangre De Cristo Mountains
I love the way the mountains look with snow on them. I live very close to the foot of these mountains. The mountain range goes all the way up to Colorado and is one of the longest mounatin ranges on earth. The Sangre De Cristo (Blood of Christ) mountains got there name from the Spaniards who came to New Mexico. When the sun would set the mountains turned red from the sun. Have a great weekend everyone.

Pulling Away
It is interesting to see as the sun warms things like this adobe wall, how the snow melts and creates a gap like this. Being new to a snowy winter sometimes I feel like a kid and find the simple things interesting.

Peace Flag
One morning I woke up to find a pretty good size icicle on one of our peace flags. I am posting something with peace in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King. Today is a National holiday in honor of Dr. King a true believer in Peace.

Do You Know Where Your Going?
When I took this photo it was only because I like the way the rails looked in the snow. After looking at this photo for several days it makes me think back to when I lived Phoenix waiting in angst to leave and longing for a new start. I am so happy to be living here.

Christmas is Still Here
The REI store in the Railyard district is still in the Christmas spirit as you can see by their tree. I wish more people were still in that spirit and still strived for Peace on Earth.

More lights and ice.
As cold as it has been lately am amazed by the icicles that form at night. It has started to warm up lately so these will be hard to come by soon. Click on the photo for a better look.

Hello from Santa Fe
While walking through my neighborhood I spotted this little family living nearby. The days have been warmer so I really doubt that they are still around. I shot this shortly before Christmas. Today is my 500th post and I wanted to say Thank you to everyone who has stopped by to say hello.

Theme Day: Best Photo of 2008
As always on the first day of the month it's time for Theme Day photo. This months theme is the Best Photo of 2008. I don't think I really have a best for the year but I do have my favorites and this photo is my first choice. These Buffalo Dancers from Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo were waiting for their final performance at St. Francis cathedral for the Santa Fe Fiestas.
Thanks for stopping by. I wish you all a Happy New Year!
