Its Wednesday, the week is half over so throw on your Red Hat and party. I found this at a local store and could not resist the color. No I don't have a Red hat.

Good Read

Snowden's Books is another of our bookstores here in Santa Fe. Its not a big place but it always has a good selection of books and the owner always has some good music playing.

Colorful Couch

This is where I would rather be today instead of going to work. I spotted this colorful couch while out shopping this weekend.

Perfect For Everyday

Potter's Supplies

I had to run down to Albuquerque today for some pottery supplies. This store has quite a bit of stuff but not what I was looking for. Still it made for a nice day trip out of Santa Fe.

I have yet to see anyone enter this building. I do like the look of it though.

Waiting for the colors of Spring

This is a new garden piece that is showing up in shops around town and on some gardening websites. Could resist buying one, I must be ready for the colors of Spring.

Shadow

The other day the sun seemed brighter than usual and I came upon this great shadow and could not resist taking a shot.

Coyote Crossing

I love this sign, its up in the town of Coyote. This small little town is up by Abiquiu lake where we are have our property that we are hoping to build on soon.

Snow Seat

This snow covered bench probably will be sitting here alone for awhile. Its been really cold lately and the snow is not melting as fast. Happy Monday all.

Not So Nice Note

I am sure this charity has gotten its share of junk and this is the only way to stop it. Frankly I would just throw the junk out and be grateful for what I did get. Hey another mans trash is another mans treasure.

Snow Covered Rocks

As the snow is slowing melting these rocks are peeking through it.

Buffalo Sculpture

This is one of the sculptures at the enterance of the Sculpture garden on Museum Hill. Have a great weekend everyone.

Who's Plate

I had almost forgotten that I had taken this picture. Someone is a fan of Pablita Velarde (see yesterdays post). This was taken several weekends prior to our museum visit.

Pablita Velarde

Pablita Velarde was an artist who blazed a trail for woman as well as Native American artist. She was part of the Santa Clara Pueblo here in New Mexico. Wish I could have taken pictures of the show so that all of you could see her work but you will just have to Google her to see more.

Snowy Cactus

I am sure that these Yucca plants will be happy to see Spring again. These were on the grounds at Museum Hill. Museum Hill has several different museums, an International Folk Art museum, a Spanish Colonial museum, the Indian Arts and Culture museum and the Wheelwright museum of the American Indian. They also have a nice cafe with a really good brunch.

Ice

This natural ice sculture was made from the snow melting off the roof of a building and onto a small bush. Its been pretty cold here at night and there are quite a few of these around town. Wish I had the time to seek them out so that I could do a whole series on them. Happy Monday all!

Stone Cold Chili

These bowls made out of stone are used mostly to grind up chili. I found them at a local store sitting out in the snow.

White Caps

This is a view of the Sange De Cristo mountains from my neighborhood. The Santa Fe Ski basin is on top of this mountain range. In the evening when the sun is setting there is a beautiful peach color on the peaks.

Snow Painting

Alot less dangerous than Snow Skiing. This painter did not want to miss out on what he was painting so when the snow started to fall he just kept right on going. This was taken in Arroyo Secco across from the pottery in the snow.

Snow Art

When we went up to Arroyo Seco we visited a few galleries. This artist chose to display some of their ceramic work out in the snow. It was amazing how the colors stood out in the snowy outdoors. Speaking of ceramics, today will be my first experience with a clay class. Look out Potters of the world!

Tea Pots At The Teahouse

The Teahouse is a great place to sit, read, chat and enjoy a good cup of tea. I love the tea pots hanging from one of the windows. Its also a great place to watch the tourist as they stroll down Canyon Road visiting the art galleries.

First Snow

This is what I woke up to yesterday morning. The first snow of 2008. This is the view out my second floor bedroom. It was very beautiful but a hard time getting to work.

Fancy Ride

I love old trucks! This one was sitting on the side of a store in Arroyo Seco which is up by Taos.

Hidden

As the day was warming up and the snow was melting everywhere today you find things that people probably didn't realize they lost in the snow. This ornament was one of those that never made it on to someones tree.

One Day Soon

This sign was posted near some construction that is going on in the warehouse district of town. Soon there will be lofts, more galleries and the permenant home of the Santa Fe Farmers Market. There will also be a Greenbelt park with walking and bike paths.

Snow Rabbit

Good thing this little Rabbit is not a real one. I don't know that he would survive being buried in the snow. The snow from Christmas is starting to melt. We're supposed to get more this weekend but we will see. Have a great weekend everyone!

Throwing Clay

Santa Fe Clay is a gallery/studio in the warehouse district of town. They teach different kinds of Ceramics classes and workshops year round. Next week I will be starting my first ceramics class. Wish me luck!

Shadows

While backing out of my driveway today I noticed the shadows that this sleeping bush casted on the snow.
